The Modular Drive System (MDS) are stand-alone, fully digital brushless servo drives designed and built to reliably provide high performance and flexibility without sacrificing ease of use. The 480V system employs a unique back plane architecture that provides a common bus platform for a power module and up to eight drive modules. Whether the drives are utilized in base drive only applications or with a closed loop controller, setup can be achieved in just minutes with no-charge PowerTools software. The use of a State-Space algorithm makes tuning very simple and forgiving. The drives are designed to operate with up to a 10 :1 inertia mismatch right out of the box. Higher (50 :1 and more) inertial mismatches are possible with two simple parameter settings.

Features:
• Innovative Backplane - The MDS backplane provides a single AC input for the Power Module, distributed DC bus and Logic Power for the Drive Modules.
• Single Power Module - MDS is a true common bus system. Three power module sizes are available to handle up to eight drives.
• A Range of Drive Modules Available - Five different-sized drive modules are available to together with a broad range motors to handle the torque and speed requirements of your application.
• FM "snap-on" Control Modules - FM control modules provide MDS Drive Modules with flexible controls that can be matched to your programming and communications needs.
• Easy Installation - An MDS system is easy to install. The backplanes for power and drive module(s) snap together and are easily mounted to the back of a panel. The modules are then snapped into place. The common-bus architecture minimizes wiring, and the wiring thatis required takes only minutes as terminals are accessible and clearly marked. PowerTools software can then be used to quickly commission the drives.
